Bizarre end to 9/11 Lawsuit
A US District Court found the nation of Iran (yes, Iran) liable for $10.5 billion in damages arising from the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001. Saudi Arabia, which was similarly accused, was cleared of responsibility, claiming sovereign immunity, among other things. Iran, however, did not bother to show up with a lawyer, given the absurdity of the accusation in light of the facts in the case per official US sources. So the judge ruled against them by default.
