The conservative core of the Democratic party myth [John Michael Greer]

August 14, 2015

John Michael Greer comes up with an unusual way of looking at D’s vs R’s, conservative vs anti-conservative.

JMG can be a bit verbose for my taste, but I am recommending this essay strongly. It is a creative and potentially fruitful re-examination of the meaning of anti-conservative, as: experimentalist vs liberal vs progressive vs regressive vs reactionary. It also touches on both the current politics, and some common myths that most adult Americans have taken in one way or another. He is rearranging some of mental furniture into what might be a more useful shape, and in this case, the copious word count that he is known for is well justified, I thought.
